Case study

Arya Samaj

A heritage hall in Little India, recorded in measurable 3D.

Overview

A century-old community landmark, modelled in three dimensions.

Arya Samaj Singapore has stood on Syed Alwi Road since 1963, continuing a community founded in 1927 and now recognised by the National Heritage Board for its role in Little India's history. This project turns the building into a full 3D photogrammetry model — a record precise enough to support restoration, archiving and future heritage work, not just a photograph.

Creative focus

A building worth preserving digitally, not just visually

With NHB heritage funding already behind murals and a gallery on the site, the building itself deserved the same care. The model captures the hall's facade, proportions and surface detail as data — something the community and future custodians can return to long after the flight.

Visual approach

  1. Full-coverage aerial capture

Overlapping passes across the building's roofline and elevations gather the imagery a photogrammetry mesh needs to hold together.
  2. Dense 3D reconstruction

The captured imagery is processed into a textured 3D model that reproduces the hall's true form and dimensions.
  3. A record for the archive

The finished model gives Arya Samaj Singapore a measurable, revisitable record of the building to sit alongside its documented history.
